Campaign for life

My name is Daisy Lorena Godoy. I’m from Honduras in Central America and I’m 35 years old. I am a Christian and I work as a graphic designer and camerawoman? in my country.

I know that life is an incredible gift that God has given me. And now that I’m suffering from an illness called Chronic Kidney Failure, I’m convinced that when life presents reasons to weep, I must demonstrate that there are a thousand and one reasons to laugh, and the essence of that gift is that the Creator has provided many reasons to keep going forward!

I want to live!

Since I was diagnosed in 2007 with kidney failure, I have felt a stronger will to live. I am now undergoing a medical procedure called hemodialysis, through which a machine takes the place of my damaged kidneys. Two needles are inserted in my arms through which my blood is conducted to the machine so it can be cleansed, liberating the accumulated liquid in my body, which I can no longer eliminate normally.

I depend on a machine to live! I go 3 times a week to a public hospital in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, where I must spend 4 hours connected to the machine during each session.

My Dreams and my Faith…

God has promised to work in my life. Although in situations like this one I don’t understand his will, He has helped me understand that if all you worry about is staying alive, you don’t live at all!! I hold strong to my faith, to my dreams and my goals. Although it is hard not to break down under these circumstances, I hope and wait; just as I hope to return one day, healthy and full of Grace, to the music ministry in my church.

I want to grow as a graphic designer and photographer, along with my fiancé, who has been a great support in my life. God in his faithfulness has placed him in my life and I want to marry him and serve the Lord with my gifts and talents placed at his service.

Help me to live!
In my country Honduras, the laws don’t allow organ transplants from donors who are not your direct family members.

I am an only daughter from a single mother, and my mother is diabetic. I have been seeking a donor among my extended family members without success. I keep seeking a donor, both in my country as well as externally, but my only option is to have a transplant operation outside of Honduras.

God is opening doors!
Thanks to the many ways in which God is manifesting himself, I have found in San Salvador, El Salvador, our neighboring country, a kidney specialist and pioneer in kidney transplants in his country, Dr. José Benjamin Ruiz Rodas, who has conducted over 500 successful operations of this kind.

While I am seeking the money for a transplant, I am also seeking a donor who must have blood type O (positive or negative) or B (positive or negative). The donor must be between 18-45 years old. The donor must also have a Creatinine and Urea test done to confirm that the kidneys are functioning perfectly.

The surgery in El Salvador, without taking into account the cost of medications, is US$ 30,000.00. I know that while there is life, everything is possible. God is my refuge and I wait on him.

Through the church where I congregate, Iglesia en Transformación, and through the solidarity which has been shown to me by my pastors, and brothers and sisters in Christ, we are seeking ways to raise the funds needed.

You can also help me live! I know that through the Lord I will be healed. In the book of Jeremiah, this promise is already there, because He is my only reason for worship (praise).
